Name: Sheriff Curtis Hill


Sheriff Curtis Hill began his career with the San Benito County Sheriff's office in 1976. Early in his career, he worked in the Patrol, Training, Civil, Corrections, Coroner, and Investigations Division. In 1988 he was appointed Undersheriff, a position he held for ten years.

Sheriff Hill was elected Sheriff in November of 1998. He was elected to his third term in 2006.

Sheriff Hill holds his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology from California State University, Fresno and is a 1989 graduate of the FBI National Academy. He is currently an officer with the California State Sheriff's Association and past President of the California State Coroner's Association. He is a past member of the Corrections Standards Authority. At the federal level, Sheriff Hill sits on the Health and Human Services Organ Donation Leadership Coordinating Council.

Sheriff Hill is a strong supporter of prevention and intervention activities for youth. He currently is on the Executive Committee of Fight Crime Invest in Kids California, and is actively involved in non-profit work at the local level. He is an advocate at the local, state, and federal level to saving lives through organ donation.

Sheriff Hill and his wife Ellen have one son in high school, Kevin.
